We have some mututal friends that had a 6 month old cat they were unable to take care of because they were running low on money (they live together, and one of the friends was having a really hard time finding a job). They asked us if we could take him, and we agreed - so now we have a rambunctious kitten! My cat is mostly okay with it, but my roommate's cat is really aggressive, so the introduction is going slower with him.

These same two friends were interested in finding a different place, and they've asked if my roommate and I would like to live with them so the rent will be easier. Heh heh, our goal is slightly bigger than an apartment, though - it's a house.

The house will have three floors, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, access to a gym and outdoor swimming pool; one of the rooms has a fireplace in it, and the master bedroom has a balcony. It's a few streets away from where I live now, and I have to say, I'm intrigued.

It works out because our cats won't be as aggressive in a larger place, my mutual friends will be able to have their cat, and everyone's rent will be lower. Not only that, but I'll no longer have to do a hike for my laundry, and when I'm no longer going to my university next year I'll still have access to a gym that's literally next door. Coolness!!

There's also a chance that a fifth person might join us in the future, which would lower the rent even more.

The only thing is, one of the mutual friends doesn't have a job, so for the first month or two the rent will be split between three people instead of four, meaning rent will be slightly higher than what I'm paying now. However, if things work out and the friend manages to get a job, then we'll all be paying less.

I'm excited!!
